NJSAT Recertification Process
The NJSAT Asphalt Technician Certifications, Asphalt Plant Technologist - Level 1, Asphalt Plant Technologist - Level 2 and Asphalt Paving Construction Technologist, all expire after 5 years on January 1st and recertification is required.
Once an individual has become certified as an Asphalt Plant Technologist - Level 2, there is no need for the individual to be recertified as an Asphalt Plant Technologist - Level 1.
Please submit your recertification application no earlier than 6 months prior to the expiration date.
If your certification has expired, you have a six-month grace period (June 30th) after the expiration date to submit your recertification application, after that and before 12 months has elapsed, you will be required to retake and pass the certification examination, please see the NJSAT Asphalt Technician Certification Program Manual below for the details.
The applicant must verify a minimum of 20 hours of asphalt related continuing education over the course of the previous 5-year certification period to renew their certification.
The supporting documentation for asphalt related continuing education is required and PDH hours are equivalent to training hours.
Applications with less than 20 hours of asphalt related continuing education will not be approved.
Once your application has been approved you will be notified via email to make your payment, this process may take up to 30 days.
After your payment is received the Certification Certificate and Card will be sent out, this process may also take up to 30 days.
